New Finds Wednesday!!

Fall is clearly on the way, but Summer is giving us one last punch with sizzling temperatures, unusual humidity
and all the wonderful tourists visiting us each and every day!

Our two Whimsy stores are packed with vintage fun!
Above check out the vintage white glider cleverly concealed under the oars, signs and pillows!
Spend the last days of Summer gently gliding on this awesome comfortable piece--so relaxing!
Above is our ode to Fall almost here and letting slowly go of Summer.
Keeping the fun alive with the Summer flower power floppy vintage hat and letting
the cool nights get a little toasty with a vintage flannel tied over a vintage plaid dress.
Your eyes may be playing tricks on you with these fantastic new handbags! They look like a drawing? Nope--they are really bags and perfect for eye catching carrying of your ipads, wallets and more. They actually hold a lot with zippers and compartments.
We just hit an amazing estate sale in Bel Air and you will love the finds we brought to Whimsy!

Our seaside area is alive with new vintage finds, as well.
Looking forward to seeing you soon--be sure and call if you have any questions or email anytime!

New Finds Wednesday

One of the beauties of decorating with vintage finds and antiques is the fact that your home becomes
unique. A true reflection of items and furniture that you have hand-picked to create your own style.
You won't go to the department store and find 40 of the same items--
but you mostly will come across one-of-a-kind
treasures when you cherish and decorate the "green" way!

Instant warmth and whimsy, this vintage fabric elephant is colorful and adorable. Plop him on a desk, or
a chest and what a statement you have!

Love the original paint on this vintage  wooden work chest with tons of possibilities. It opens and reveals a few drawers. Imagine how cute a succulent garden would be planted in this, or it can be ideal for your art supplies.  We have a few wine barrel peace signs in the shop. Love the recycling!
Below is a vintage candle holder from Italy.
Our newest seller in Whimsy is Cindy and her space is lots of fun! Starting with the
amazing designer fabric on the walls, to the AstroTurf on the floor, you will find her collections
wonderful!  The painting of the man is by a listed artist and the solemn expression on
his face just seems to relax me every time I peer into her space.
Below him are vintage Japanese original hand tinted photographs in wonderful frames.
More elephants! These candleholders are large and bold and unique!
A great find is this vintage wooden folk art child's sand toy! All original--it is a large
piece that would certainly add character to any room.
If you think this is a crate of eggs, look again! A collection of wooden darners is more like it!
Start a collection--here is a great start!
A wonderful antique quilt is superb condition in Ranell's space.
To me this artist's palette IS ART! Gorgeous colors---great old wooden palette.
Come to Whimsy on 7th Street and explore lots of vintage nautical finds!
This wooden shelf/chalkboard/towel rack is very large and very useful. Use in a kitchen, bath,
entryway...to name a few....
And the last featured item is this mid century mosaic piece of art is rather large and would make a
great statement indoors or out.
Hoping to see you at Whimsy soon!

A fresh flock of our leather owl bags has landed at Whimsy!
We have all the great colors, so stop in or call and you can have your own!
Just in is this amazing wood painted sign!
Just the right amount of wear, this sign can't help but make you smile.
Above is a heavy cardboard and paper game/sign. Love the colorful graphics.
Signs, metal sign letters, vintage croquet art--Whimsy has lots of fun for your walls.
New this week are these vintage teak Adirondack chairs with retractable foot rests. They have been refreshed in some cool white paint. Take a look at the 1953 "Sea Nymph" lamp! Gorgeous turquoise with
hints of red peeking through. And, the fun vintage table below her, is a perfect table to fill a little nook.
A cute little vintage chest, some mid century finds,  and an Eiffel Tower lamp!
An instant collection of vintage sand pails!
Amazing vintage ties just came in...
This deer head, has just the right amount of shabbiness--it has a great look!
Yesterday, I had so many customers from France! This, my friends, is for you!
A great antique game from France.
Need any replacements for your Fiesta ware? We have a few pieces left and a great Bauer bowl.
Wonderful vintage dress and that glider would be perfect to enjoy these last few weeks of Summer!
I am truly a lover of vintage children's books as I adore the graphics.
This says it all!

New Finds Wednesday

Summer is zipping by. I mean, last night I saw 2 commercials for back-to-school.
Seriously, in July? That is depressing.

What isn't depressing is this amazing art piece from Finland above! In person it is huge  (notice the
cool iron chair right next to it--that is for scale) Dated 1977, this art is fun and vibrant! It would certainly liven up any space. Before I brought it to Whimsy today, I had it at home, and smiled EVERY time I looked at it. Just a happy and graphically pleasing bouquet!
Her is Cierra, who was a customer today in Whimsy. I loved her retro hairdo and glasses.
She was adorable and she tried on this adorable plaid 50's dress. I loved it with her turquoise shoes!
Rumba anyone? Pick up this cool book for some pointers!
Just in is this amazing  vintage Homer Laughlin set.
Sure, not all the pieces survived all these years but plenty did!
Above are some oversized hanging fishing floats. The capiz hanging pieces work great if you add a light inside. We have one done up as a sample.
Love the dream pet hippo sitting on the shoulder of this adorable 60's dress.
One of our sample necklaces adds a little kick!
I am a big fan of vintage packaging and graphics. We have a load of fun examples at both shops.
Check out the vintage Salty Dog glasses and carrier. So fun and so complete!
This adorable antique Hiawatha doll from Canada is in very good condition and
has her original box!
Below is a 50's plaid western blouse with a cute oversized troll with her vibrant pink hair!

This colorful painted vintage tray is perfect for a summer party. Love the trees!
Hope to see you this Summer! Swing by  Whimsy and say howdy!
I have a free gift for you if you say your read
this blog post! Really, I do!

New Finds Wednesday

Whimsy is absolutely brimming at both stores with new finds and lots of fun vintage for you!

We adore the Swimming Team photo from 1934! A great group to hang on your wall!

Below is a sweet white vanity that would be perfect as a desk or laptop station.
We have a new person in our 7th Street Whimsy and Cat's room is packed with finds!
Take a look at the 50's gown--tres chic!
Here's a closeup of some of Cat's barkcloth--she has some wonderful panels/sets!
Our seaside room at our Whimsy on Linden has some new great furniture. Wonderful
distressed buffet and bedside table that has a high gloss finish. In person, it is stunning!

Love the sweet 1960's Dream pets in the shop. Look at he crab with an attitude and the happy lobster!
Aldean has some great vintage trims on spools.
You can be a master painter, with the help of Gale's antique book and some old paint brushes!
Look at the vivid yellow midcentury Danish tray.  It has many possibilities!
Fun retro pyrex. In love with the dot patterns!
Recently we were featured in our local paper and here is a snapshot they took in Whimsy!
Thanks so much for peeking and as always, we look forward to seeing you soon!
