Whimsy visits A Vintage Wonderland of a Home!

Meet lovely Laurinda.
Laurinda is a dealer at our Whimsy (on 7th Street) and we recently had the pleasure of visiting her
wonderful home filled to the brim of creative vintage living. Laurinda has quite a following at Whimsy and her home is something so wonderful--I couldn't take it all in on one visit so stay tuned for more on Laurinda's home in the Spring!

Inside and our, Laurinda's talents touch every square inch. I must say, the visual treat was like
magic.  Laurinda painted the silhouette in the repurposed planter her husband Corby constructed.
Next to it is a galvanized bucket tree. Okay, I think you get what you are in for....

A tower of vintage suitcases greets us as we enter the front door.
Vintage vignettes in every direction you look. This one was above the armoire.
Yes, I WISH I could live here. It makes me very happy since I am a vintage lover, of course!
Did I mention Laurinda is a quilter, too? Love her quilts featured throughout the house.
Corby is a genius, too. He makes old clocks and radios work like new, as well as fabricating every idea Laurinda comes up with. What a team!
Below is a red vintage watering can lamp Corby whipped up...I was drooling over that!
And I was in awe of the antique hoosier top with original paint that Laurinda used
as a display hutch. Repurposing at it's finest!
Wonderful vintage red fence panel with vignette that is inspirational!
There are french undertones throughout and the charm that oozes makes me feel like I am in
a Paris cottage.

Laurinda mentioned she has a "thing" for pillows.  Love the collection and oh so comfy! The hand hooked whale one was purchased at Whimsy!
What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about? Loved Laurinda's unique treatment and
lighthearted approach on this vintage stand. How creative can you be?
 Laurinda certainly takes the cake.
We were lucky to take our first view of her home during the holiday season. She threw together
winning holiday scenes that took my breath away.
Feast your eyes on the lovely vintage tea station!
Adorable polka dot strawberries that Laurinda whipped up look so whimsical amongst her treasures!

One of the Christmas trees was this fun pink one. Notice the display that includes a box of ornaments!
On the kitchen counter is a lovely blue polka dot collection displayed on an antique
doll's cupboard.
Just a tiny peek of the outdoor fun.  You will see more in Spring--I promise!
Oh, the old washing machine is a fountain, of course!
The old white church pew makes a perfect dining table bench.

Vintage book pages were applied to the wall behind the books above and on the surface of the hutch below with laundry starch. Laurinda says it works better than modge podge and comes off easily when you are ready to change things around.
When I asked sweet Laurinda what her favorite flea market find in her entire house was she said it was the American flag below. She actually left the flea market without buying it but made Corby turn around so she could snatch the vintage flag, complete with brown instead of blue behind the stars.
Today only a glimpse into one of the bedrooms--this is the Christmas-All-Year room!
Look at he vintage hankies that Laurinda made a sweet bunting out of...
The wonderful plaid vintage metal picnic items fit in perfectly....
Along with a vignette of vintage Christmas linens hanging as art on the wall!
Thanks so much Laurinda, Corby and adorable doggies!
We can't wait to visit again to show the rest of the house and the fabulous outdoor spaces!
